How Verification Works
CheckInDate uses an in-app selfie verification flow to help reduce fake profiles and add a clearer trust signal to profiles that pass review.
1. Take a fresh selfie
Open the verification flow in the app and capture a new selfie with the front camera instead of choosing an old photo from your library.
2. Upload it to the verification flow
The selfie is uploaded to CheckInDate's verification backend so it can be reviewed against your existing profile information.
3. Compare with your profile photos
The system checks whether the selfie is consistent with the photos already attached to your profile.
4. Get a result
If approved, your account is marked verified. If not, you can continue using the app and try the verification flow again later.
Why verification matters
Verification is one of the ways CheckInDate supports trust before conversations move into real-world spaces. It is designed to make impersonation and low-effort fake profiles harder to maintain.
A verified status should be understood as a trust signal, not a guarantee of perfect behavior or compatibility.
What the app actually does
The current flow asks you to take a fresh selfie inside the app with your front camera. That selfie is uploaded into CheckInDate's verification flow and checked against the photos already on your profile.
If the verification result is approved, your account is marked as verified and receives a verified badge. If it is not approved, you may be asked to try again.
What data the verification flow touches
The current implementation can store verification-related records linked to the account, including the verification result and the selfie URL used by the verification flow.
CheckInDate uses this flow to decide whether a verified badge should be applied to your profile. The page does not promise manual review, document checks, or identity guarantees beyond what the app currently supports.
What verification is not
Profile verification is separate from device Face ID or other biometric unlock features. Face ID on your phone helps you unlock your account faster; it is not the same thing as verifying your public profile.
Verification also does not guarantee someone's behavior, intentions, or compatibility. You should still use your own judgment and the app's block and report tools.
